Arcburn privacy policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026. Publisher: SaneBits. Contact: support@sanebits.com
Arcburn is a combat racing game for Meta Quest. It has no account, no advertising, no analytics and no in-app purchases. We, SaneBits, do not collect or store any information about you. If you choose to race online, our relay passes race information between the players while the race runs, as described below.
On your headset
Your career progress, unlocked cars, tunes, records and settings, and your racing callsign and paint, are saved in the game's own storage on your headset. They never leave it, except as described under Racing with other people below. Uninstalling the game deletes them.
Hand and head tracking
The game reads your hand and head positions from the headset so you can steer, use powers with your hands and look around the cockpit. This information is used on the headset only, while you play, and is not stored or sent anywhere, not even in a race with other people.
Racing with other people
You can race friends nearby on the same Wi-Fi, or online by a six-letter room code. When you host or join a race, the headsets in it share:
- each player's callsign (chosen from the game's own list of words, never typed), car, paint and tunes;
- each car's position, speed and actions during the race (about 20 updates a second), and the race results.
No free text, voice, head or hand positions cross between headsets. Nobody stores this information: the other headsets use it only while the race runs and discard it when it ends. A random number, kept on your headset, lets you rejoin a race you dropped out of, and lets a host keep a removed player out of that room.
Nearby (same Wi-Fi)
Headsets on your local network see that a race exists, with the host's callsign, the track and the number of players. The race information travels directly between the headsets over your local network. None of it goes to the internet, to SaneBits or to any third party.
Online by code (optional, uses the internet)
Arcburn connects to SaneBits only if you choose to host or join a race online. When you do, your headset connects to SaneBits' race relay, a service we run on Google Cloud in Belgium (EU).
- The relay passes the race information listed above between the headsets in your room, and nowhere else. It does not read or keep it.
- The relay handles your device's IP address and the room code to make the connection and to limit abuse. Its rate-limit records hold only a scrambled (hashed) form of the address, stay in memory, and are gone within a day.
- We keep only anonymous service records, such as how many rooms ran, for how long, and how much data they used. They contain no callsigns, codes or IP addresses.
- Google, which hosts the relay, processes connection data such as IP addresses on our behalf as our service provider.
- Online rooms are private: only people with your room's code can join. The host can remove and block a player. Anyone can hide or mute another player on their own headset.
The game uses network permissions only for racing with other people: nearby play on your Wi-Fi and, if you choose it, online play through the relay.
Children
Arcburn does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. Other players see only your callsign, car and paint, all chosen from the game's own lists.
