Brassline privacy policy

Brassline is a gunfight game for Meta Quest. It has no account, no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting and no in-app purchases, and it never connects to the internet. We, SaneBits, do not collect or store any information about you.
On your headset
Your progress (cases closed, ranks, records, the Daily Case and the gun finishes you have earned), your settings and your detective profile (the call sign you picked from the game's list and your detective's look) are saved in the game's own storage on your headset. They never leave it, except as described under Squad below. Uninstalling the game deletes them.
Hand and head tracking
The game reads your hand and head positions from the headset to let you aim, fire, lean, duck and press buttons, and to place you in the scene. In single-player play this information is used on the headset only, while you play, and is not stored or sent anywhere.
Squad (multiplayer on the same Wi-Fi)
Squad lets up to four headsets on the same local Wi-Fi play a case together. Headsets on your network see that a room exists, with the host's call sign, its four-letter room code, the number of players and whether a case is running. When you host or join a room, the headsets in it share:
- each player's call sign and detective look;
- the sidearms they chose;
- their head and hand positions, so that each detective moves like the person playing it;
- their shots, hits, scores and the state of the case.
This information travels directly between the headsets over your local network. None of it goes to the internet, to SaneBits or to any third party. Nobody stores it: the other headsets use it only while the room is open and discard it when it closes. A random number, kept on your headset, lets you rejoin a room you dropped out of.
The host can close a room to newcomers, and remove a player and block them from rejoining. Anyone can hide another player's call sign and detective on their own headset.
The game uses its network permissions only for Squad.
Children
Brassline does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. In Squad, other players in the room see your call sign, which you pick from a fixed list; there is nothing to type.
